Relay for Life 2012
Saturday 25th - Sunday 26th February
Rotorua International Stadium

The Cancer Society’s Relay For Life is a celebration and awareness-raising event for cancer survivors, their whanau and friends and communities. The concept involves team members walking or running around a track for 22 hours - the team must always have one member on the track. While Relay For Life is running, a festival atmosphere is created by team members camping out and enjoying entertainment. The event is open to everyone!

From their bleak student flat at 660 Castle Street Dunedin, emerged a unique sound which could be described as a fresh Kiwi fusion of roots, reggae, hip hop, dubstep, and drum and bass. A sound, which over the past couple of years has resonated around the country, catching people’s attention and creating huge demand. After releasing their first self-titled EP early last year, Six60 have performed at large-scale festivals such as Rhythm and Vines and Splore, alongside music heavyweights such as; Salmonella Dub, Katchafire, Hollie Smith and Tahuna Breaks, Kora and the Blackseeds.

Lakeside 2012 - When Love Comes To Town

On Saturday 10 March at 7.30pm, the Rotorua Lakefront will come alive as thousands will gather for the staging of "When Love comes to Town." the annual Lakeside concert spectacular. A 17 piece orchestra led by Auckland's Mark Dennison will back some of the nations leading artists, including Hinewehi Mohi, Jackie Clarke, Frankie Stevens, Bella Kalolo and Rotorua's own, musical theatre singer and dancer, Turanga Merito. The line up includes the return of an inspirational operatic section. Show artistic director, Kate Ward Smythe of Auckland says, the show will feature effects never before seen in Rotorua.

That's Country

It's time for New Zealand country music fans to celebrate! In March 2012 for the first time iconic 80's TV show "That's Country" will hit the road on an extensive national tour. The shows will feature stars from the original series - Suzanne Prentice, Ray Columbus, Australia's Jade Hurley, Tony Williams, Maree Humphries plus members of the original " That's Country" band. As an additional bonus they will be joined by special guest star, 2011 Country Music Legend winner, Dennis Marsh.

The Meridian Season of Angelina Ballerina's Big Audition

After hugely successful tours of Australia and the UK, Royal New Zealand Ballet is delighted to be performing this enchanting production, originally created by English National Ballet, throughout the country between March and May. Angelina Mousling is a fictional mouse and the star of some twenty enormously popular children's books, which became an animated TV series in 2002, then a musical and now a ballet.
